Copy games onto your Xbox

Our Xbox modification allows you to copy games from your game disk directly onto your Xbox hard drive. This means that after copying, the game disk is no longer required for game play, allowing you to put the disk into safe storage and away from harms way.

Backup (Burnt/Copied) games can also be used.

GTX dashboard to navigate your new Xbox abilities.

A dashboard is simply a screen with a menu structure within it. This makes it easy to navigate your way through all the new features modification brings. To give you some idea of what to expect, some screen shots of the dashboard can be found here. The GTX dash is without a doubt the best of it's kind in our opinion, it's the exciting audio and visual interface that makes the modified Xbox experience so much more enjoyable and is therefore why it's the Xroad dash of choice, being used on all modifications we do.

Play DVDs, MP3, VCD, SVCD & other media formats on your Xbox from any region.

Software included in modification includes a media player similar to the one you may already use on your PC. This media player allows easy navigation of your hard drive to find & play all the most common media files used today. Effectively this allows you to do away with your CD player & DVD player and replace it with your Xbox using it as a powerful entertainment centre. Damaged CDs become a thing of the past by being able to store your  MP3’s, Mpeg, Avi and other audio/ video files on your Xbox. You can even play DVD's from other regions.

Emulators are small programs that come with Xbox modification. They are designed to allow games to be played that were built for other brand machines. For example; You may have a soft spot for some of the Atari 2600 games. Simply load the games onto your Xbox Hard Drive, placing them in the Atari 2600 folder, open the Atari 2600 emulator from the emulator menu in your new Xbox dashboard and select what game to play. Smooth sailing once you have done it once or twice. Roms (the games) are readily available from many sources on the internet for download and can be easily transferred from your PC to your Xbox via FTP.

DVD & MP3 Ripper - Back-up utility

DVD Ripper allows you to back-up your movies on-to your Xbox hard drive. This tool will make 3 or 4 pieces of the DVD allowing for playback via the supplied media player without the DVD being used in the rom drive. It will also allow you to convert music on CD's to the well known MP3 format and canl also name the MP3 files via the online CD Data Base. Recent additions include menu sound effects, background music while ripping, awesome new graphics and the possibility of speech recognition in the future.

FTP (file transfer protocol) lets you connect your PC or another Xbox to your Xbox. This lets you then copy games, MP3, video, picture and any other files from one to the other. You could even use your Xbox as a true multi tasking entertainment system, containing ALL your media for quick and easy access from your lounge chair. Your modified Xbox is ready for this, however you need to see if you PC has a network or LAN card installed. If it doesn't, our on-site technicians can install this for you when you order your Xbox modification.

After modification your Xbox has approximately 7 Gigabytes of unused space allowing between 0 and 3 games to be copied for use without the game CD. This number of games can be greatly increased by also upgrading your Xbox hard drive to a larger drive. These drives can be bundled together with a Xbox Mod for a reduced price when installed together. We have NO LIMITS to the size of hard drive you wish to use but the general preferred size is about 120GB that will store 50 +/- Xbox games. Now (Oct 2004) we can even stack them up allowing for 3 hard drives in total - potentially 750GB of storage space ;) - cool
